Book Review: Bewitching

Summary: Bewitching can be a beast. . . .

Once, I put a curse on a beastly and arrogant high school boy. That one turned out all right. Others didn’t.

I go to a new school now—one where no one knows that I should have graduated long ago. I’m not still here because I’m stupid; I just don’t age.

You see, I’m immortal. And I pretty much know everything after hundreds of years—except for when to take my powers and butt out.

I want to help, but things just go awry in ways I could never predict. Like when I tried to free some children from a gingerbread house and ended up being hanged. After I came back from the dead (immortal, remember?), I tried to play matchmaker for a French prince and ended up banished from France forever. And that little mermaid I found in the Titanic lifeboat? I don’t even want to think about it.

Now a girl named Emma needs me. I probably shouldn’t get involved, but her gorgeous stepsister is conniving to the core. I think I have just the thing to fix that girl—and it isn’t an enchanted pumpkin. Although you never know what will happen when I start . . . bewitching.

Rating: 5

Review: I loved this book so much. From the very beginning it felt a bit like beastly because  Kendra was trying to help someone else but it was even better than beastly.

From the beginning I loved the characters, they had depth and emotion and I felt like I could relate to Emma really well. I liked Lisette when we you first meet her in the book and I was really hoping she wouldn't become the evil stepsister. She was worse than an evil stepsister, she took everything from Emma. I hated her so much and I wanted her to accidentally die.

After Emma had lost everything there was finally a piece of hope with Warner. He was so sweet, nice, and amazing. He was so nice to Emma. Everything in this book was perfect! It did not end how I expected it to. Which, in a way, is good, if you can predict what's going to happen in the book it not as exciting, it's just predictable.

I loved Emma so much, she reminds me of me she loves books and stayed to herself most of the time.

In all of Alex Flinn's books she talks about books a lot, especially classics. She shows how these books effect the characters. Emma would be so different if she did not love to read classics. She would not be as smart and the book would be very different in the end. I want my life to be like this, it's tough in parts but it gets better and hopefully happy in the end.

The writing was so good. it makes you love some characters and hate others and it is a story of finding yourself when all seems lost. You get lost in the pages and you love every minute of the story.

I cannot wait to read more books by Alex Flinn. I definitely recommend this if you like fairytale retailing and if you just want a perfect cute story.
