Listen!
Dear dream of utter aliveness-
Touching my body of utter death-
Tell me, O quickly! dream of aliveness,
The flaming source of your bright breath.
Tell me, O dream of utter aliveness-
Knowing so well the wind and the sun-
Where is this light
Your eyes see forever?
And what is the wind
You touch when you run?

DeleteCongrats on the 20th post of Poetry Corner! You should keep doing them cause it's an awesome meme! Poetry needs more love. And this one is no less! Another gorgeous poem from Langston Hughes!
ReplyDeleteAnd i see you are currently reading The Great Gatsby! How are thinking about it so far?
I will definitely keep going with this. I always enjoy finding new poets that I love, like when I discover a new favourite author :)
DeleteI'm liking The Great Gatsby so far but I don't think I like any of the characters, there just such bad people and they have no morals. Though it is a really interesting book to read.
